SKILLS FOR CARE - CARE AMBASSADOR PROGRAMME

There will not be a formal Care Ambassador Programme next year as Skills for Care Eastern are unable to continue the funding for the contract.

However 'Care Ambassadors' is still a key initiative for Skills for Care and nationally they are considering how they can develop a programme in the future.

Skills for Care Eastern have asked us to pass on the messages below:

Skills for Care are exploring and planning for how we can effectively meet the increasing demand for Care Ambassador input and market the social care sector to raise its image and status.

Skills for Care are also looking to enhance the work of projects across the country to provide a sustainable way of coordinating and supporting activity, information and resources and raising the profile of both the sector and the re-designed Care Ambassador initiative.

Skills for Care feel it is essential that employers are in the driving seat shaping and steering how Skills for Care do this and a national Care Ambassadors Employer Steering Group has been set up to take the work forward.

Skills for Care Eastern and ourselves, The Britten Partnership, would like to thank all of the Care Ambassadors for their enthusiasm, innovation and hard work in supporting the promotion of social care through the Care Ambassador Programme over the last 4 years. A big Thank You from all of us.

As you can see Skills for Care are now looking to develop a future Care Ambassador input and they and us will keep you informed. If you feel that you would like to be involved in this national review of the initiative please let us know.

In addition, The Britten Partnership, is still involved in Health and Social Care initiatives such as conferences, summer schools etc so we will stay in touch to see if you are able to support us in the future. Although our activities are more likely to concentrate on the Health sector we would still like to represent the increasing requirement to combine the two sectors: Health and Social Care.

We would like to wish all of you the best for the future and hope that we can work together soon.
